Heard Around Town

Today the Newburyport Police Department will hold its fourth annual Fill a Cruiser food drive.

The drive will take place at Shaw's Supermarket and Market Basket on Storey Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Donations of nonperishable food items will be accepted and go to the Salvation Army of Greater Newburyport. Both supermarkets will have prepackaged bags for purchase at different costs ranging from $5 to $25.
