APPROVED

Sending preliminary tax bills if necessary due to possible delay in the state Department of Revenue's setting of the tax rate. Also signed an Unused Levy Capacity letter to the Department of Revenue should those preliminary tax bills need to be sent with the unused balance from last year.

Changes to a draft letter by Traffic Solutions to the state Department of Transportation about the delays in approving the reconstruction of Route 110, which will be added by Earl Baumgardner and then returned to the company.

Signing of ABCC liquor license renewals, as well as amusement, entertainment, trailer sale, and class II used car sale licenses for town businesses. A letter noting Francesca's Deli had not submitted the forms on time for liquor license renewal was also signed.

The $1,450 bid from Groveland Fencing Supply to erect a fence at the Merrimacport Pump Station site.

A holiday lunch for Town Hall employees on Monday, Dec. 14. The offices will be closed during lunchtime that day.

Signing a certificate of achievement for Connor Tribble, who earned the rank of Eagle Scout on Nov. 19 this year.

DISCUSSED

The use of contractors and private plows for plowing the town during snow storms for next year. The selectmen are asking for information on whether using more municipal employees and equipment might save money over the season.

Issues brought up by the Parks and Recreation commission on formalizing the approval process for field use, liability issues when fields are being used, and plans to increase the number of the town parks and fields.

Whether the proposed sidewalks from the center of town to the Merrimac Public Library are necessary; a decision is delayed until the library trustees can give their input on their needs.

More information is requested on a request from fire Chief Ralph Spencer to have Fire Department employees declared "special employees" under the current ethics laws. The selectmen are waiting for more information from the state Attorney General on the ethics rules.

The recently completed Water Master Plan for the town, including the forecast for water use in the town until 2030, issues of areas with low pressure, possible changes in metering water use and improvements recommended to meet the demands.
