Union Congregational, Newburyport

The Christmas Eve service at Union Congregational Church, 350 Main St., Amesbury, will be at 7 p.m.

Belleville Congregational, Port

Special instrumental and solo music will be performed at 6:40 p.m., followed by a Christmas Eve Candlelight Family Service at 7 with lessons and carols with closing circle of light at Belleville Congregational Church, 300 High St., Newburyport.

St. Paul's, Newburyport

Christmas Eve services at St. Paul's Church, 166 High St., Newburyport, are as follows: 4 p.m., Holy Eucharist with a Children's Focus; 9 p.m., Music Program; 9:30 p.m., Festival Holy Eucharist.

Christmas Day service is at 9 a.m., Holy Eucharist with Carols

There will be a single service on Sunday, Dec. 27, at 9 a.m., Holy Eucharist with Carols and The Blessing of the Christmas Toys (children of all ages encouraged to bring their favorite toy of Christmas to have it blessed — no toy weapons, please).

West Newbury Congregational

Christmas Eve services at West Newbury Congregational Church, 308 Main St., are as follows: Family Service at 4:30 p.m. and Candlelight Service at 7 p.m.

Immaculate Conception, Newburyport

The Mass schedule for Christmas at Immaculate Conception Parish, Newburyport, is as follows:

Christmas Eve, 4 p.m., Church; 4 p.m., Auditorium; 6 p.m., Church; midnight, Church.

Christmas Day, 8 and 10 a.m., Church.

Main St. Congregational, Amesbury

A family service of Lessons, Carols and Candlelight will take place at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and a family service of Lessons, Carols, Communion and Candlelight will take place at 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Pilgrim Congregational, Merrimac

The schedule of services for Christmas at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 27 Church St., Merrimac, is as follows: Christmas Eve candlelight service of lessons and carols will be at 11 p.m.

There will be no Sunday Soup on Dec. 27. "Soups" will resume on Jan. 31.

Market St. Baptist, Amesbury

Community United Methodist, Byfield

On Christmas Eve at 5:30 p.m. the Praise Band will lead the Community United Methodist Church congregation in an outdoor Starlight and Candlelight Worship Service. At 6:15 p.m., the Nativity Open House will get underway in the sanctuary of the church. There will be cocoa and cookies to enjoy while perusing the nativities and crîches placed throughout the sanctuary. Then at 7:30 p.m., the Community Choir will lead the gathering in classic lessons and carols with Holy Communion inside the sanctuary. All are invited to attend.

The Community United Methodist Church is located at 11 Central St. in Byfield Center.¬ 

First Parish, Newbury

A candlelight service of traditional lessons and carols will take place in the sanctuary of First Parish Church, 20 High Road, at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Following, everyone is invited to join at 7:15 p.m. at the stable at 128 High Road, Newbury, for a live nativity with Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, shepherds and live animals. The Christmas story will be told with carol singing under the stars. Hot chocolate and cookies will follow. Dress warmly. Park in the driveway or on the street. St. James Episcopal, Amesbury

The following is the Christmas Service schedule for St. James Episcopal Church in Amesbury: Christmas Eve, Family Eucharist with pageant at 4 p.m., Holy Eucharist with choir at 7 p.m.; Christmas, Holy Eucharist at 9 a.m.

Old South, Newburyport

Hope Community Church will hold its traditional Candlelight Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. The service includes carols, special music, candles and hot mulled cider afterward. All ages welcome to this service at 11 Hale St., Newburyport.

Merrimacport United Methodist

Merrimacport United Methodist Church, River Road and High Street, will offer three services on Christmas Eve: 4 p.m., special Children's Service with children's band; 7 p.m., children's sermon as well as a service of scripture and song; 11 p.m. service with scripture, song and communion.
