Children's day at library Feb. 1

AMESBURY — Take a child to the Amesbury Public Library on Feb. 1.

There will be a special craft project in the Children’s Room, forms to get a library card, information about all the programs, and a scavenger hunt that allows children to be entered into a raffle for a bag full of Mo Willems prizes, including plush Elephant & Piggie, a Pigeon hat and, of course, some books.

This is one day only in celebration of Take Your Child to the Library Day, a national initiative started by two Connecticut librarians that encourages people to start (or just continue) the habit of taking a child to the library regularly. You’ll be amazed at how it can improve literacy and a love of learning. The library has books, movies, books to listen to and so much more. For more information, visit the library website at or call the Children’s Room at 978-388-8148.
