Amesbury Cultural Council seeks volunteers
The Amesbury Cultural Council is looking for volunteers who would like to serve on the local council. Our goal is to help foster and promote the cultural enjoyment and enrichment of our citizens through local and regional arts and culture events and programs. Vigil for common-sense gun laws
A group of concerned citizens vigil every Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. in Amesbury to promote gun safety laws. The group gathers at the the corner of Main and Sparhawk streets near the gazebo by the town library. Organizers have been holding the vigil every Monday since January in response to the tragedy in Newtown, Conn. All are welcome. Note the change of time.
Call of Duty Military Club
The Amesbury Public Library in connection with the Newburyport Veterans Department has begun its second year of Call of Duty Amesbury. The club will meet every other Wednesday with a presentation from a veteran and then strategy games and a snack in the mess hall (Teen Lounge). The club is open to students in grades 6 to 9. MSBC basketball winter program
The Market Street Baptist Church, 37 Market Street, Amesbury is hosting an 8-week Junior Church Basketball Winter Program for girls and boys ages 5 to 8 in the church gym on Fridays from Jan. 31 until March 21, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
This program is a noncompetitive, instructional league designed to teach fundamental basketball skills and basic Bible knowledge in a fun and engaging manner. A suggested donation of $10 per child to help defray expenses. Make check payable to: MSBC/Bball. Space is limited.
