Yoga class for female veterans
The Amesbury Council on Aging, along with Dr. Heidi Lilienthal and Whitney Willman, yoga instructor, announce the launch of a yoga class for female veterans. This class is specifically for female veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and military sexual trauma (MST). This will be a 75-minute mat class and attendants should be able to get up and down from the floor with relative ease. Classes will be held over 12 consecutive weeks and will meet on Saturday mornings (time will be determined). This class will build new skills each session and weekly participation is crucial. The first class will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Council on Aging in The Provident Room. Those interested in attending should contact Tarynne Crutchfield at the Amesbury COA to be screened. Coffee hours at the senior center
The Amesbury Council on Aging will hold the following coffee hours:
Jan. 29, 9 a.m.: Come and meet Mayor Ken Gray. Enjoy a cup a coffee and some light breakfast items with the mayor. This is an informal session and a great opportunity to introduce yourself to Mayor Gray.
Feb. 3, 9 a.m.: Congressman Tierney will be at the Amesbury Council on Aging. All are welcome to join us as we meet with Congressman Tierney. Enjoy a cup of coffee and light refreshments. This is in an informal session that welcomes all to attend.

O'Connor Ives office hours
State Sen. Kathleen O’Connor Ives, D-Newburyport, will host office hours in Amesbury on Friday, Feb. 7, between 1 and 2 p.m.
