Book of Troop 4 history on sale
A Troop 4 Boy Scout history book is for sale at Market Street Baptist Church, 37 Market St., Amesbury.
“Boy Scouts of America Troop 4, Amesbury MA of Market Street Baptist Church History 1957-2009” is a 240-page book by Dianne Dostie Cole. It offers a chronological history of Troop 4 compiled from church records, local newspaper articles as well as scout memorabilia ending with the 50th anniversary celebration. Color photos as well as black and white are included in the book.

Amesbury Cultural Council seeks volunteers
The Amesbury Cultural Council is looking for volunteers who would like to serve on the local council. Our goal is to help foster and promote the cultural enjoyment and enrichment of our citizens through local and regional arts and culture events and programs. Blankets 4 Kids seeks assistance
The Amesbury Council on Aging's Blankets 4 Kids programs is seeking community members to aid in making new blankets for children who live in the upper Merrimack Valley. Blankets can be made at home and dropped off. Both fleece as well as yarn for those who prefer to knit or crotchet the blankets are available.
Volunteers are also being sought to aid in the inventory and packaging of blankets. Some of the distribution sites for the blankets include the Amesbury Holiday Program, Pettengill House, DCF Haverhill office, Pregnancy Care Center, and Amesbury Fire and Police departments.
The group meets weekly on Mondays at 10 a.m. in the Senior Center's Institution for Savings Arts and Creativity Room. Anyone interested in making or receiving blankets should contact Beverly Drew at 978-852-3042 or email email@example.com.
