Historical Society plans cemetery tours

The Georgetown Historical Society invites the public to attend their upcoming tours of Union Cemetery on East Main Street (Route 133) in Georgetown.

Historical Tour: On Oct. 13 and 14 at 2 p.m., learn about Georgetown’s early soldiers, ministers, slaves and abolitionists while touring Georgetown’s oldest cemetery, dating back to 1732. See and learn about early gravestone carvings. Admission is $5.

Halloween Tour: On Oct. 27 and 28, join the Historical Society for look at Georgetown’s macabre history at their Third Annual Halloween “Tragedies and Tombstones” tour of Union Cemetery. Learn about Georgetown’s witches, ghosts, and tragic deaths. Admission is $5.

Tours last about an hour.
