Tannery kicks off Salvation Army Thanksgiving Food Drive

Newburyport Daily News

---- — NEWBURYPORT — Matter Communications in The Tannery in Newburyport is once again sponsoring a Tannery-wide collection for the Salvation Army’s annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.

The agency will be collecting items through Nov. 16 in specially marked bins located throughout the Tannery at 50 Water St. and at its office in Mill No. 3.

The Salvation Army Thanksgiving Food Drive is an annual collection to help support those in need during the holiday season. Items collected will be donated directly to the Salvation Army on Water Street in Newburyport.

Suggested donation items include turkey (preferably grocery store certificates to purchase a turkey, as the Salvation Army has limited freezer space), stuffing, sweet potatoes, yams, white potatoes, vegetables, turkey gravy, turkey broth, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, cake mix, pie crust, pie filling and juice.

“Giving back to the greater Newburyport community is a priority here at Matter,” CEO Scott Signore said in a press release. “Last year, we filled three SUVs full of food and we are hoping for another great turnout this year. It’s important to help one another especially during the holidays, so we’re glad to help make that happen this Thanksgiving season.”
