This Day In History

On this day in 1785: At a meeting of the legal voters of Newburyport, it was deemed that the discharge of firearms in the streets be prohibited. Also, owners of horses were ordered to drive carefully under penalty of five shillings. Fines were to be paid to the poor of the town.
