Programs at Mass Audubon's Joppa Flats

---- — Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center, located at One Plum Island Turnpike in Newburyport, is a natural history education and visitor center that is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday and Monday holidays, 8:30 to 4 p.m.

SATURDAY MORNING BIRDING

Weekly trip with experienced leaders in a search for avian activity in the Newburyport and Plum Island area. For beginners and birders of all skill levels.

Today 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Meet at Joppa Flats Education Center, One Plum Island Turnpike, Newburyport.

Fee: Adults $10; children ages 8 and older, $7. Registration is not required.

WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT

Naturalist Mark Brown photography exhibit, “Still of the Moment: Images of the Natural World,” in the center’s Juliet Kellogg French room from April 21 through June 2. Brown will introduce his work at a free opening reception on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Joppa Flats. A portion of all purchases made during the exhibit helps to support Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats.

FAMILY DAY AT THE BIRD BANDING STATION

Bring the family to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge for an exciting, up-close look at migrating birds as they are netted and evaluated before releasing. The Bird Banding Station is only open at the height of migration in spring and fall. For families with children age 6 and older. Today, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

SPRING BIRDING AT ROUGH MEADOWS
