Four received merit scholarships from St. John's Prep

DANVERS — Four local students have received St. Francis Xavier Merit Scholarships from St. John’s Prep. They will begin their studies in September as members of the Class of 2017 at St. John’s.

The students are John Olds of Merrimac and a student at Immaculate Conception School; Matthew O’Leary of Newburyport and a student at Rupert A. Nock Middle School; Johnathan Danis of West Newbury and a student at Immaculate Conception School; and Joshua Follansbee of West Newbury and a student at New Hope Tutorials.

The St. Francis Xavier Scholarship recognizes incoming students for exceptional academic achievement, leadership and a commitment to service. St. John’s awarded 36 St. Francis Xavier Merit Scholarships to students from 20 cities and towns in Massachusetts and New Hampshire this year.
