Toward Zero Waste offers recycling tips Saturday

Newburyport Daily News

---- — NEWBURYPORT -- The city’s recycle center will permit residents to engage in a paper-shredding session Saturday, as well as the opportunity to learn more about environmental organizations in the town.

City officials say that on Saturday, recycling leaders will offer the services that they usually do on the first day of the month: the opportunity to recycle electronic goods, motor oil, batteries, light bulbs, cooking oil and more.

In addition, members of a group called Toward Zero Waste Newburyport this Saturday will be present to provide information on how to get rid of recyclable goods in a responsible way.

The organization is trying to recycle and/or limit waste of all kinds, and they will be available from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Recycle Center on Crow Lane to answer questions.
