SALISBURY — Volunteers are needed to work at the Maria Miles Visitors Center, run by the North of Boston Visitor and Convention Center.
Located at Exit 60 off Interstate 95 in Salisbury, the center serves more than 40,000 visitors from all parts of the country and the world during each month during the summer. The center is open 7 days a week, providing information to those traveling around the region and the state.
The North of Boston Visitor and Convention Center is looking for volunteers who enjoy working with and helping travelers. Volunteers are needed from June through September to work from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday through Thursday, and from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends Friday through Sunday.
The work consists of giving out map and travel directions, as well as lodging, dining, historical and recreational information, along with selling tour tickets.
Those volunteering gain the opportunity to learn more about the state and region, while working with hospitality professionals from the North of Boston Visitors and Convention Bureau, which is housed at the center. Passes are also provided to volunteers to some area attractions and historical points of interest.
