Port Media holds open house Thursday

NEWBURYPORT ­-- PortMedia will host an open house on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.

The community media center will offer visitors tours of the television studio and provide an update on new projects and initiatives at the station, including a new art gallery for local high school student artists, an audio room for Internet radio, and the launch of a community recording studio using a grant from New England BioLabs.

Visitors can see a demonstration of the new green screen, listen to entertainment by student musicians, and also make a PortMedia Internet Radio ID. Refreshments will be served from Carry Out Cafe and Port City Sandwich.

PortMedia, Newburyport’s community channels 8 and 9, is located at 3 Graf Road, suite 11.
