On Christmas Eve, carols beginning at 7:15 p.m., service at 7:30 p.m.

Christmas Day, service at 10 a.m.

Belleville Congregational Church, 300 High St., Newburyport

The traditional Candlelight Christmas Eve Family service begins at 7 p.m. in the Meeting House. The service features lessons, stories and carols, special choral music and the Children’s Choir will perform “Go Tell It on the Mountain.” There will be a meditation by the Rev. Ross Varney. The service will have an invitation to encircle the sanctuary and sharing of the Light while singing “Silent Night, Holy Night.” The Meeting House is handicapped accessible.

Central Congregational Church, 14 Titcomb St., Newburyport

Christmas Eve services: 4 p.m., Family Service: This is a lively service with music by the Central Church Christmas Band. 7 p.m., Traditional Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols with music by the Chancel Choir.

East Parish United Methodist Church, Salisbury Square

Christmas Eve service, 5 p.m.

First Congregational Church of Georgetown, 7 Andover St., Georgetown

Christmas Eve Candlelight and Carols will be held at 7 p.m.

First Parish Church of Newbury, Route 1A, Newbury

Christmas Eve Service: Lessons & Carols, 6 p.m., with music by the choir directed by Chandler Noyes.

First Religious Society, 26 Pleasant St., Newburyport

On Christmas Eve at 5 p.m., there will be a Family Christmas Eve Candlelight Service appropriate for all ages. It features a story, traditional carols and readings, special music and individual candle9lighting. A free-will offering will be taken at the conclusion of the service to support the Unitarian Partner Church in the Transylvania region of Romania.

Holy Redeemer Parish

Masses on Christmas Eve will be at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. at both the Church of the Nativity, 4 Green St., Merrimac, and at St. Ann’s Parish, 300 Main St., West Newbury.

Hope Community Church, 11 Hale St., Newburyport

The church will hold its traditional Candlelight Christmas Eve services on at 5 and 7 p.m. Each service includes carols, special music, candles and hot mulled cider afterwards. All ages welcome to these services.

Immaculate Conception Parish, Green Street, Newburyport

On Christmas Eve, Masses will be held at 4 p.m. in the school auditorium and 6 p.m. in the church and at midnight in the church.

On Christmas Day, Mass will be held at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. in the church.

Main Street Congregational Church, 127 Main St., Amesbury

Christmas Eve, 7 p.m., Family service of lessons, carols and candlelight; 11 p.m., service of lessons, carols, communion and candlelight.

Dec. 30, 10 a.m., worship — kids feel free to come in their jammies.

Market Street Baptist, Market Street, Amesbury

Christmas Eve Family Candlelight Service & Pageant will be held at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary. The Nativity Story is presented in pageant form along with hymns of celebration of Christ’s birth and is suitable for all ages.

Merrimacport United Methodist Church, 39 High St. (corner of High Street and River Road), Merrimac.

Three Christmas Eve services: 4 p.m., Family Service and Birthday Party for Jesus; 7 p.m., Readings and Carols Candlelight Service, singing carols and hearing the Christmas story, ending with lighting candles in the darkness while singing “Silent Night”; 11p.m., Readings and Carols Candlelight Service, a traditional midnight service ending with candlelighting at midnight.

Our Savior Lutheran Church, Route 1, Topsfield

Candlelight Christmas Eve worship will be held at 5 and 7 p.m.

People’s United Methodist Church, 64 Purchase St., Newburyport

The Christmas Eve Service will be at 7 p.m. with candles and hymns.

Pilgrim Congregational Church, 27 Church St., Merrimac

A traditional Christmas Eve service will begin at 11 p.m. The Christmas Eve worship service includes readings and music and concludes with a candle-lit singing of “Silent Night” at midnight.

St. James Episcopal Church, 120 Main St., Amesbury

Christmas Eve Services at 4 p.m. featuring Holy Eucharist, Rite II, a family-friendly service with the Godly Play Pageant and Christmas Songs; 8 p.m. with Holy Eucharist, Rite I, with choir and music.

On Christmas Day, there will be one service at 10 a.m., Holy Eucharist, Rite II.

St. Paul’s Church, 166 High St., Newburyport

Christmas Eve: 4 p.m. Service of Holy Eucharist with Paper Bag Pageant; 9 p.m., Music program followed by Holy Eucharist.

Christmas Day, 9 a.m., Holy Eucharist.

Among Friends Meal Program will serve dinner at 5:30 p.m. today and lunch on Christmas day at 11:30 a.m. — all are welcome.

Union Congregational Church, 350 Main St., Point Shore, Amesbury

A traditional Currier and Ives Christmas Eve Candle Light Service will be held at 7 p.m.

Unity on the River, 58 Macy St. (Route 110), Amesbury

Christmas Eve services start at 4 p.m. with a children’s service followed by candlelight services at both 5:30 and 7 p.m.
