Hope Community Church, 11 Hale St., Newburyport

The church will hold its traditional Candlelight Christmas Eve services on at 5 and 7 p.m. Each service includes carols, special music, candles and hot mulled cider afterwards. All ages welcome to these services.

Immaculate Conception Parish, Green Street, Newburyport

On Christmas Eve, Masses will be held at 4 p.m. in the school auditorium and 6 p.m. in the church and at midnight in the church.

On Christmas Day, Mass will be held at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. in the church.

Main Street Congregational Church, 127 Main St., Amesbury

Christmas Eve, 7 p.m., Family service of lessons, carols and candlelight; 11 p.m., service of lessons, carols, communion and candlelight.

Dec. 30, 10 a.m., worship — kids feel free to come in their jammies.

Market Street Baptist, Market Street, Amesbury

Christmas Eve Family Candlelight Service & Pageant will be held at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary. The Nativity Story is presented in pageant form along with hymns of celebration of Christ’s birth and is suitable for all ages.

Merrimacport United Methodist Church, 39 High St. (corner of High Street and River Road), Merrimac.

Three Christmas Eve services: 4 p.m., Family Service and Birthday Party for Jesus; 7 p.m., Readings and Carols Candlelight Service, singing carols and hearing the Christmas story, ending with lighting candles in the darkness while singing “Silent Night”; 11p.m., Readings and Carols Candlelight Service, a traditional midnight service ending with candlelighting at midnight.

Our Savior Lutheran Church, Route 1, Topsfield

Candlelight Christmas Eve worship will be held at 5 and 7 p.m.

People’s United Methodist Church, 64 Purchase St., Newburyport

The Christmas Eve Service will be at 7 p.m. with candles and hymns.

Pilgrim Congregational Church, 27 Church St., Merrimac

A traditional Christmas Eve service will begin at 11 p.m. The Christmas Eve worship service includes readings and music and concludes with a candle-lit singing of “Silent Night” at midnight.
