Collaborative art showcase featured at school's art gallery

Now showing until Feb. 15 at the Pat Marshall Link Art Gallery at the Pine Grove School is Art for All, All for Art, a collaboration between ArcWorks, the Center for Emerging Artists, and Endicott College. The showcase promotes the artistic and creative talents of people with disabilities. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. For more information, contact the school, which is located at 191 Main St., at 978-948-2822.

A presentation about the basic rights in special education, presented by the Federation for Children with Special Needs, will be held at library at Triton Regional High School today from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The administration at the Pine Grove School will host a parent information forum on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the school. The forum, “Theories that Guide Classroom Learning,” is to help parents understand the fundamental foundations of learning that are used in the classrooms with their children.

These include theories on learning styles, multiple intelligences, Bloom’s Taxonomy, growth mindset and responsive classroom. This free evening of learning is sponsored by the school’s School Council.

Tickets are now on sale for Pine Grove School’s production of “The Princess and the Magic Pea,” which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, for two shows, at 1 and 5 p.m. The musical, of the search for a “true princess” who would feel the magic pea through a bed piled high with mattresses, will be held at Triton Regional High School.

The last day to sign up without a late fee for Rowley Youth Baseball and Softball spring leagues is Thursday. The league is open to girls in grades 3 to 8 for softball, and boys and girls ages 5-12 for baseball (age is as of April 30, 2013).

Registration can be done online at www.rowleyyouthbaseball.com. The cost for baseball/softball registration is $100 for the first family member and $75 for each additional member. Registrations received after Thursday will be charged a $25 late fee.
