New Parent Center opens tomorrow

A new, welcoming and inviting room designated as the Pine Grove Parent Center will open tomorrow. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be performed at 9 a.m. by Principal Christine Kneeland.

"Parents, we feel, are our partners in the important job of educating the children of this community," Kneeland said. "We value frequent contact between parents and staff to ensure a connection with all aspects of school life, and one of our goals is to see that the parents/guardians of students, just like the students themselves, feel at home here at Pine Grove School, which is why we have dedicated this center to parents."

The new center, which is centrally located near the main office, has been designed to be a welcoming place for parents when they come into the school to volunteer or help out in any other way. Previously, parents had used a small copy room near the cafeteria when volunteering, but the area was very small and not well equipped.

"We are so excited about the opening of this center," Kneeland said. "The new room has all the equipment needed to make volunteering projects easier, and it's in a bright, airy, roomy place where parents can be comfortable."

The grand opening of the center, which will be open Monday through Fridays from 8:10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will be from 9 to 10 a.m. and include cake and coffee. All are invited to attend.
