Jennifer, whose name has been changed to protect her and her childrens' anonymity, couldn't afford the rent last month and has been told she's being evicted.
As of Jan. 7, she and her two young children, age 3 and 6, will be homeless. The 3-year-old suffers from asthma and relies on a nebulizer for breathing treatments.
Jennifer has no family she can reach out to, and she's contacted every local social service agency. The Housing Authority in Amesbury told her there is a two-year waiting list, and local shelters are full.
She is hoping someone who hears her story will be able to help by providing her family some temporary shelter in a vacant apartment, winter rental or condo.
The Salvation Army is willing to take calls from anyone who is able to help Jennifer and her family by calling (978) 465-0883.
This time of year, the work the Salvation Army does is as valuable as ever.
The Salvation Army and the Daily News Holiday Fund work together to help those in need, those who need a little something extra to get their lives going again, especially around the holidays when families gather. Your donations go a long way to help.
