NEWBURYPORT: Judge Peter Doyle presided over the following jury-waived cases recorded on Thursday, March 20, in Newburyport District Court:

Robert O. McElhany, 46, 141 Beach Road, Apt. 26, Salisbury; possession of cocaine (subsequent offense), continued to June 8 for jury trial; driving with a suspended license (subsequent offense), found guilty, sentenced to 18 months in the house of correction (66 days to be served, deemed served, balance suspended), assessed $50 for the state Victim/Witness Fund (VWF); no inspection sticker, found responsible, filed (Salisbury); driving with a suspended license (subsequent offense), found guilty, sentenced to 60 days in the house of correction (deemed served); no inspection sticker, found responsible, filed; failure to wear a seat belt, found responsible, filed (Salisbury).

Charlia P. Jones, 24, 5 Mill St., Beverly; driving with a suspended registration, dismissed, assessed $100 costs, $50 for the VWF; driving an uninsured vehicle, dismissed, assessed $200 costs (Amesbury).

Steven M. Montisanti, 1 Boynton Port, West Newbury; violation of an abuse prevention order, continued without finding for two years, sentenced to two years' probation, ordered to have no contact with the victim, assessed $50 for the VWF (West Newbury).

Stanley Everette, 48, 3204 Killian Ave., Portsmouth, Va.; improper use of a credit card of more than $250, found guilty, sentenced to 18 months in the house of correction (60 days to be served, deemed served, balance suspended), two years' probation, ordered to stay away from Market Basket and CVS, assessed $90 for the VWF; attempting to commit a crime, found guilty, sentenced to 18 months in the house of correction (60 days to be served, deemed served, balance suspended), two years' probation (concurrent) (Rowley).

Marie T. Driscoll, 39, 21 Erick Road, Mansfield; driving while under the influence of alcohol (DUI) (second offense), found guilty, sentenced to six months in the house of correction (suspended), two years' probation, ordered to undergo 14 days inpatient treatment, license suspended for two years, assessed $250 for the Head Injury Fund (HIF), $50 DUI victim's assessment, $50 for the VWF; negligent driving, continued without finding for two years, sentenced to two years' probation (concurrent), assessed $250 for the HIF; failure to stay within marked lanes, found responsible, filed (State).
