The Georgetown Senior Center is at the First Congregational Church on Andover Street.

Men's Breakfast with former sports writer May 1: Michael Ryan, a former sports reporter for the Haverhill Gazette, Lawrence Eagle Tribune and the Boston Herald, will be on hand to discuss his experiences covering and writing about sports during a Men's Breakfast on Thursday, May 1, 9:30 a.m., at Trestle Way. To assist with planning for the event, call the Council on Aging office at 978-352-5726 to register for the event. With great appreciation, the COA thanks Crosby's Market for its sponsorship of the Men's Breakfast Program as well as the Georgetown Housing Authority for their partnership in offering the monthly program.

Stroke Prevention Program May 7: Jackie Gauran, R.N., and Joann Duffy, R.N., of Merrimack Valley Hospital's nursing staff will present a stroke prevention program along with blood pressure screenings Wednesday, May 7, 10 a.m., at the First Congregational Church, Andover Street. To assist with planning, call the COA at 978-352-5726.

Music Masters in Concert May 12: Join us in our annual celebration of Older Americans' Month as the Music Masters perform an hour of song and humor on Monday, May 12, 1 p.m., at the First Congregational Church. Dance down the streets of Broadway. Clap along with a Gaelic jig. Reminisce to songs of yesteryear. Refreshments will be served. Reservations are not required, but to help with planning, call 978-352-5726. The program is supported by a grant from the Georgetown Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Local history program planned May 13: Local historian, the Rev. Bill Boylan of Byfield Parish Church, will present a program on local history Tuesday, May 13, 10 a.m., at the First Congregational Church on Andover Street. To assist with planning, call the COA at 978-352-5726.

Five-week Caregiver Support Program to begin May 14: With caregivers often facing a variety of challenges as they care for a loved one, bereavement coordinator Lucille Bonanno of Beacon Hospice will lead a five-week Caregiver Support Group. The group will meet Wednesdays May 14, May 21 and June 4 at 10 a.m. The group will also meet Wednesdays, June 11 and 18, at 9 a.m. For further information, call the COA at 978-352-5726.

Lost Sock Memorial Day Fun and Craft May 21: Join us on Wednesday, May 21, at 9:30 a.m. for a morning of fun and laughter. Create sock puppets, bean bags or catnip toys using unmatched socks from home. Fun activities will include "sock" poems, puzzles and a list of suggested uses for odd socks. A box will be available if you would like to eulogize your socks and lay them to rest once and for all. To assist with planning, call 978-352-5726.

Memorial Day Writing Workshop May 27: Join Director Colleen Ranshaw-Fiorello for a morning of writing about favorite Memorial Day celebrations on Tuesday, May 27, 10 a.m. To assist with planning, call the COA at 978-352-5726.
