Register for YWCA summer camps, more

The YWCA Greater Newburyport has it all! Register now for summer camps, summer School's Out (full-day program) and Health and Wellness at the new facility. Staff will be at the satellite office at 10 State St. Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Camp sessions and summer School's Out begin the week of June 30. The grand opening of the new Health and Wellness Facility (new four-lane lap pool, warm water pool, fitness center, group exercise room, kids' clubhouse, locker rooms) is slated for May.

Update on empty medicine bottles

Atria Merrimack Place thanks participants in the Empty Medicine Bottle campaign by dropping off empty medicine bottles for Partners in Development to distribute. Atria Merrimack Place is no longer accepting bottles; however, you may drop off bottles at the Newburyport Council on Aging, located at 40 Water St.

Newburyport host families needed

Worldwide International Student Exchange, a nonprofit educational program, seeks host families for Spanish students, ages 14 to 17, for a period of four weeks. Students can share a room with your child of the same gender. Students have a structured program each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with English classes and cultural trips, and come with their own spending money. They want to experience an American family. Merrimack RiverFeline Rescue Society seeking volunteers

The MRFRS is currently seeking volunteers for their "Strut for Strays" fundraiser on Sunday, June 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Bartlet Mall in Newburyport. The event will feature Randy Price at the honorary chairman, music by Sunchunk and refreshments. Proceeds will support MRFRS's programs caring for cats and kittens in need of aid locally.
