Peace Fellowship Award deadline extended
A $1,000 peace fellowship will be awarded this spring by the Newburyport chapter of WAND, Women's Action for New Directions, to support development of a young peacemaker wanting to continue making a difference by addressing injustice and promoting peace. A secondary but equally important goal is to train youth leaders who will work for change through social and political activism. Applicants may be high school seniors or graduates who live in Newburyport, Amesbury, Triton, Pentucket, Georgetown, or Haverhill. Deadline for receipt of applications has been extended to May 2. Applications have been sent to each high school in the eligible districts and may be obtained by contacting Barbara Hildt at 978-388-3647, or e-mailing Joanna Hammond at firstname.lastname@example.org.
