NEWBURYPORT: The following jury-waived case was recorded on Wednesday, May 28, in Newburyport District Court, with Judge Peter Doyle presiding:

Stephen Pesce, 19, of 24 Pleasant St., Everett; assault and battery, guilty, 2 1/2 years in the house of correction, suspended, two years of probation, one year with electronic monitoring bracelet, $4,749.83 restitution (Salisbury).

Winthrop Ashworth, 23, of 40 Bridge St., West Newbury; driving while under the influence of alcohol, continued without a finding for one year, 45-day loss of license, alcohol and substance abuse program, $250 head injury fee, $250 operating under intoxication fee, $50 operating under intoxication victims fee, $50 victim-witness assessment; marked lanes violation, responsible, filed (Salisbury).

William Pardo, 49, of 94 Cottage St., Melrose; driving without a license, continued without a finding for six months, $100 in court costs, $50 victim-witness assessment; driving without registration, continued without a finding for six months, $100 in court costs; driving without insurance, continued without a finding for six months, $200 in court costs; driving without an inspection sticker, responsible, filed (Newburyport).

Charles Frangakis, 22, of 32 Amesbury Road, Kensington, N.H.; driving without a license, continued without a finding for one year, $50 victim-witness assessment; possession of a class B substance, continued without a finding for one year, must remain drug-free (state police).

John Hirschfeld, 22, of 13 Fox Run Drive, Newburyport; driving while under the influence of alcohol, continued without a finding for one year, 45-day loss of license, alcohol and substance abuse program, $250 head injury fee, $250 operating under intoxication fee, $50 operating under intoxication victims fee, $50 victim-witness assessment; failing to stop for a stop sign, responsible, filed; driving with an open container of alcohol, responsible, filed (Newburyport).

Lawrence Legere, 51, of 263 Greenville Road, New Ipswich, N.H.; driving while under the influence of alcohol (third offense), guilty, six months in the house of correction, committed, two days credited, eight-year loss of license, $1,000 fine, $250 fine, $250 head injury fee, $90 victim-witness assessment; marked lanes violation, responsible, filed (Amesbury).

Ryan Joffee, 19, of 346 Redfern Ave., Westmount, Quebec, Canada; underage possession of alcohol, $150 in court costs, $50 victim-witness assessment; marked lanes violation, responsible, filed; equipment violation, not responsible (West Newbury).
