Georgetown Days scheduled Oct. 25-26

GEORGETOWN — Georgetown Days is returning this fall with lots of old-fashioned fun.

The Georgetown Education Foundation, the Business Alliance and many other groups in town are working together on the event, set for Oct. 25 and 26, Selectman Evan O'Reilly said at a meeting Monday.

Most of the activity is planned for the area around the Peabody Library. The fair will include artisans and crafters, a horribles parade, live musical entertainment, a visit from Curious Creatures, a chili cookoff and a scarecrow contest, O'Reilly said.

"We also want to put out information about residents' businesses and nonprofit organizations for people to be able to take," O'Reilly said.

Anyone wishing to volunteer should e-mail georgetowndays@yahoo.com or attend a planning meeting Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall second-floor meeting room.

"It really should be a great time," O'Reilly said.
