What's Happening?

September is National Senior Center Month.

Sept. 3, 10 to 11 a.m., Memory Fitness Class: learn how to improve your memory with fun games and exercises.

Sept. 5, Foot Care (by appointment)

Sept. 12, Food Pantry

Sept. 8, 9 a.m., TRIAD meeting

Sept. 11, Noon, "Patriot Day" luncheon to honor our police and fire departments — join us for the Italian Festival.

Sept. 16, noon, Cheryl Gresek of Congressman John Tierney's office will have office hours

Sept. 22, Red Sox Day (wear your Sox shirt/hat, join us for lunch)

Sept. 24, Celebrate Senior Center Day with TRIAD "Grab & Go Bags," special luncheon and speakers. 10 a.m., Premier World Discovery Slide Show: Great Pacific Northwest

Sept. 26, Food Pantry

Oct. 5, 10 a.m., Sunday, Elder Services RiverWalk

Oct. 21, 10 a.m., slide show with Collette Vacations: California Historic Trains

Wednesday, Sept. 24, 12:45 p.m., Afternoon at the Movies: "Made of Honor" with: Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan. The movie is free. The meal will be $2.50. (Sign up ahead.)

Amesbury Playhouse, free shows: "Mouse Trap," Aug. 27, noon dinner, 1:30 show. "Social Security," Sept. 19, 7 p.m., dinner, 8:30 show. To make reservations, call the Senior Center two days prior to the show, (978-346-9549). If you want dinner, call 978-388-9444 for a dinner reservation. Tell them that you are attending as part of the free senior show from Merrimac so that you do not get charged for the show.

Holiday Fair meetings, Sept. 3 and 24 at 10:00 am. Consignment and information forms will be on the sign-in table starting on Sept. 29. The fair needs colored table cloths, not vinyl or plastic.

Sal's Poker on Thursday, 1 to 4 p.m., every week. Sign up at the Senior Center, 100 E. Main St., or drop in.
