Groveland raffle offers home heating, gasoline winnings

GROVELAND — If you worry about the price of heating your home this winter or filling your car's gas tank, you might want to check out Groveland Historical Society's raffle.

First place will be $1,000 toward heating your home, and the second prize will be a $500 Hess gift card. The first-place prize will be distributed as either a gift certificate to the winner's oil company or credit toward natural gas.

Tickets are $10 each or $50 for six. They will be sold at upcoming community events and soon may be available at local businesses. The drawing will be on Nov. 20.

"This is a fundraiser that's good for everyone," said Claire Walsh of the historical society.
