SEABROOK — Since the 1970, Brown's Lobster Pound has been a meeting place for Republican candidates prior to a state election, and this year is no different.
According to owner Bruce Brown, who is also the head of Town Republican Committee, federal, state and county candidates running on the Republican ticket will gather at the pound at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Politics will be the topic of discussion, he said, and chowder will be on the menu.
Expected are U.S. Sen. John E. Sununu, who's in an election battle with former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen for his seat. Also attending will be Jeb Bradley, who is trying to regain the N.H. District 1 Congressional seat he lost two years ago to Carol Shay Porter.
Gubernatorial candidate Joseph Kenney, Executive Council candidate Russell Prescott and N.H. state senatorial candidate Lee Quandt are expected to be on hand, Brown said, along with Al Weare, Amy Stasia Perkins, Koko Perkins and Richard Morris, who are running to represent Seabrook and District 14 in the N.H. House of Representatives.
Also attending will be all Republican candidates for county office.
Admission — and the chowder — are free, Brown said, and the event is open to all comers, not just Republicans.
Brown's Lobster Pound is located on Route 286 in Seabrook.
