Pentucket Regional School Committee

Having the superintendent and business manager provide the committee with options for health-care costs to review and forward to the Insurance Advisory Subcommittee.

Sending an informational flier on the FY2010 budget to parents and others in the community prior to the Jan. 20 public budget hearing.

Holding a meeting from 7 to 7:30 p.m. prior to the public budget hearing on Jan. 20 in order for Pentucket faculty and staff to give their input on the FY2010 budget. Comments at the public hearing will be restricted to residents of the tri-town district.

Holding additional meetings to discuss the FY2010 budget on Jan. 27, Feb. 10 and Feb. 24.

DISCUSSED

An update from Chairman Tom Atwood on the Master Planning Committee report, specifically regarding possible wording changes in the regional agreement that would give the district the option of having a sixth- through 12th-grade secondary level, should voters approve a building plan that required the reconfiguration. The board stressed that the option would only be exercised with an approved plan that was both cost-effective for the communities and educationally sound for students.

Goals and initial revenue projections for the FY2010 budget.

The status of the current budget, given possible cutbacks at the state level. Superintendent Paul Livingston said the district was "on target" with the possible exception of regional transportation funds, which could be at risk.

ANNOUNCED

Groveland's Kathy Kastrinelis reminded those present to attend AlumNight 2009 today. AlumNight is a fine and performing arts benefit run by Pentucket alumni artists that begins with an visual arts exhibit at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria, followed by a variety-style show in the auditorium at 7. The public is encouraged to attend, with all proceeds from AlumNight going to support arts education and programming for the district.

CANCELED

A meeting of Fee Task Force scheduled for Jan. 7 due to concerns about possible inclement weather.
