Nomination papers will soon be available for a host of Amesbury town positions. Beginning May 4, residents may stop by the Town Clerk's Office to pick up nomination papers for placement on the ballot for mayor, councilor at-large, School Committee, Planning Board, Library Trustee, Housing Authority and district councilors.
Certified signatures of at least 50 registered voters are necessary to be placed on the ballot for mayor, councilor at-large, School Committee, Planning Board, Library Trustee And Housing Authority. To be placed on the district councilor ballot, 25 registered votes certified signatures are needed.
The last day to obtain nomination papers is July 24, at 5 p.m. Nomination papers with proper signatures are required to be returned by July 28 at 5 p.m.

The Amesbury Police Department and Our Neighbors' Table will host their second Sex Offender Awareness Seminar today at 8:30 a.m. in the Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank, 43 Main St.
The event is free and open to the public.

Another downtown storefront is full. Real Bodies of Amesbury features a wide variety of clothing imported from Bali, Indonesia. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Friday, May 1, 11 a.m., at 35 Main St.

Amesbury will host an Open Studio Tour Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tour will take place at the Artists' Muse, 9 Water St. and 14 Cedar Street Studios, 14 Cedar St.
The tour will feature light refreshments, live music and an organic farmers market at the Cedar Street Studios.

Lowell's Boat Shop will feature several upcoming spring open house events. On Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the shop will host an open house at their location at 459 Main St.
The open house will feature live music, tours, boat building demonstrations, rowing on the Merrimack River and face painting and balloon art for children. Light refreshments will be served.
The following weekend the boat shop will host an Open House and Mayor's Challenge Race on May 9. Come watch Amesbury Mayor Thatcher Kezer and Newburyport Mayor John Moak race each other on the Merrimack River.

The Amesbury Improvement Association will host their annual Plant Sale Saturday, May 9, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Alliance Park on Main Street.
