BEVERLY — Merrimac residents Brendan DeWolf and Kelsey Pickering, Newburyport residents Marcella Felde, Tessa Geron and James Pouliot, and Daniel Kessler of Byfield graduated on May 22 at the 30th annual commencement of the Waring School.
Ceremonies included an address to the graduates from Peter Laird Smick, headmaster, a greeting from Andy Calkins, chairman of the Board of Trustees, and a musical performance or speech by each of the graduating students.
DeWolfe was awarded the prestigious Founder's Prize at Commencement and was given the French Prize at an earlier Baccalaureate ceremony, held May 21; he is set to attend Brown University this fall. Pickering was awarded the Community Prize and will attend the University of Mary Washington in Virginia.
Pouliot was awarded the Theater Prize at Baccalaureate and will attend Tufts University in the fall. Kessler gave a speech on his time at Waring and will attend Elon University this fall. Geron was one of two winners of the Waring Debate Prize and will attend Wellesley.
Felde shared the Liberal Arts Prize with another Waring senior and will go on to UMass-Amherst this fall.
