'Special funding' meeting Monday with Tierney

WEST NEWBURY — Congressman John Tierney invites small businesses, nonprofit agencies and municipalities to a free seminar on special funding opportunities available through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It will be held June 22 at West Newbury Town Offices, 381 Main St., at 2 p.m. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m.

The North Shore is home to over a dozen communities that may be eligible to take advantage of these programs, including Amesbury, Boxford, Essex, Georgetown, Groveland, Hamilton, Ipswich, Lynnfield, Manchester, Merrimac, Middleton, Nahant, Newburyport, Newbury, Rockport, Rowley, Salisbury, Swampscott, Topsfield, Wenham and West Newbury.

Presentations include information on business and industry loans, renewable energy programs, value-added grants; community facilities funding, water and environment funding, and rural business and opportunity grants.
