His work has helped to create peace after the genocides in Rwanda and Burundi and in prevention of election violence in Kenya. He is author of “A Peace of Africa: Reflections on Life in the Great Lakes Region.” Zarembka will also discuss related programs that are used worldwide, including in the U.S., to help people in conflict create peace.

Learn about how feeling the presence of God as Love has the effect of bringing moments of inspiration that cure, in a talk by Mark Swinney entitled “What is it that connects prayer with healing?” The one-hour talk will be given Tuesday, June 11, at 7 p.m. at Steeple Hall at Mission Oak Grill, 26 Green St. in Newburyport. Swinney, a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science healing, has more than 250 published articles addressing numerous facets of prayer and Christian healing.
