Gray tops Kezer by eight votes in Amesbury; hand recount planned

Initial results are in for Amesbury, and Ken Gray has topped Thatcher Kezer in the mayoral election by eight votes, 2,088 to 2,080.

However, Kezer plans to ask for a recount.

Winners in the councilor-at-large race are Jim Kelcourse with 2,243 votes, Anne Ferguson with 1,867 votes and Donna McClure with 1,711 votes. Challengers Allen Neale and Eric Bezanson received 1,473 and 1,667 votes, respectively.

In the District 1 council race, Paul Sickorez beat incumbent Robert Gilday, 380-355, while incumbent Joseph McMilleon beat Erin Butt, 374-311 in District 5.

In District 6, Jonathan Sherwood won with 329 votes to David Haraske's 271.
