Waterfront Trust to meet tonight

NEWBURYPORT — The Waterfront Trust is scheduled to meet tonight at 7 in the police conference room at 4 Green St., and about a half-dozen items on the agenda relate to construction projects near the river.

Board members are expected to hear a report on the status of Riverside Park improvements, in anticipation of construction of a restaurant in the area called the Merrimac Ale House.

Also, there will be discussion of upcoming contracts relating to boating activities on the river.

Panel members are also expected to review progress on the bulkhead improvement project.

City officials have received a state grant to begin improvements of the bulkhead (that supports the boardwalk), and work had been expected to start this autumn.
