Information night tomorrow for MVSM
The Merrimack Valley School of Missions (MVSM) is hosting an information night at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, at the West Newbury Congregational Church, 308 Main St., West Newbury. All are welcome to attend to learn about the school’s history, mission, teachers and classes. Testimonies will be heard from students as well as a presentation on future plans. Refreshments will be served.
MVSM is designed to equip believers with a deeper understanding of their faith and greater competency in ministry at an affordable rate. The lecturers are local pastors, missionaries and ministry leaders and the topics cover theology, history, Bible and practical ministry. Intro to meditation class offered
The Insight Meditation Center of Newburyport will offer a six-week class entitled “An Introduction to Insight Meditation.” The class is designed for anyone interested in learning Insight Meditation (Vipassana). Vipassana is a simple practice that steadies the mind by grounding attention in the present moment; it originated in the Buddhist tradition more than 2,500 years ago. Prayer is topic at Salvation Army
“Praying through the Bible” will be offered weekly at The Salvation Army.
Every Wednesday, participants will explore various forms of prayer as found in the scriptures. What is prayer? Is there a right or wrong way to pray? Share your own experiences with prayer in this open learning environment. All are welcome. Group will meet from noon to 12:45 p.m. in the chapel at The Salvation Army, 40 Water St., Newburyport.
