Thanksgiving Service in Amesbury
The Amesbury Council of Churches will hold a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, Nov. 24, at 3 p.m. at the Rocky Hill Meeting House on Elm Street in Amesbury. Be sure to bring a blanket if it is cold, since there is no heat in the meeting house. A free-will offering will be taken to benefit the Amesbury Holiday program.
Thanksgiving service at Christian Science church
The Christian Science church, 22 Inn St., Newburyport, will be hosting a Thanksgiving service open to the public on Thanksgiving Day from 10-11 a.m. Testimonies of gratitude and healing will be shared by congregants in addition to singing of hymns, and listening to readings from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Holy Redeemer fair Nov. 23
The Holy Redeemer Parish Holiday Fair will take place on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Parish Hall on Green Street in Merrimac. There will be beautifully decorated gift baskets, delicious baked goods and candies, nearly new items, jewelry and handmade goods. This year browse the Christmas Shop for hostess gifts, and the bring the kids for crafts, gift bags and games.
Bid for a silent auction item, buy a chance to win a raffle prize of $500, $250 in gift cards, Kindle Fire HD or a handmade leaf quilt. Many smaller raffles, too. Lunch, featuring home made soups, chowders, baked beans and franks, chop suey, salad and rolls, will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
