Newburyport Daily News

---- — AMESBURY — The annual Amesbury-Newburyport Thanksgiving food drive enters its third year this season. The all-sports booster clubs from Amesbury and Newburyport are once again teaming up with friends and neighbors in both communities to continue their tradition of helping those in need during the holidays.

Collection sites will be set up at the Thanksgiving Day football game between the Newburyport Clippers and Amesbury Indians at James J. Landry Memorial Stadium in Amesbury.

Items collected will be donated to Our Neighbors’ Table meals program in Amesbury. The following non-perishable items are needed most: peanut butter, jelly, canned tuna and chicken, canned fruit and vegetables, canned beef stew and canned soups, especially chunky soups, chicken noodle and tomato; boxed pasta, cereal, pasta sauce, healthy snacks for kids and shampoo. Individuals are reminded to check the expiration date on items being donated.
