She is an affiliate minister with the Unitarian Universalist First Parish in Brookline. She also serves as the interfaith spiritual adviser for the New England Pet Hospice, an organization that provides all kinds of support for people caring for a dying animal in the home.

Flatbread pizza benefit Tuesday

Flatbread pizza night to benefit the restoration of Union Congregational Church will be held Tuesday, Oct. 29, 5-9 p.m.

Flatbread will donate $3.50 for each large pizza and $1.75 for each small pizza sold during the evening. (Does not apply to salads, drinks, or desserts.) People can still contribute by ordering take-out. Flatbread is located at 5 Market Square, Amesbury, 978-834-9800.

School of Missions November class

The Merrimack Valley School of Missions (MVSM) is designed to equip believers with a deeper understanding of their faith and greater competency in ministry at an affordable rate. The lecturers are local pastors, missionaries and ministry leaders and the topics cover theology, history, Bible and practical ministry. The cost is $20 per course and students are welcome to jump in at any time. Contact Pastor John at 978-388-0930 for more information.

105 Church History I: What happened after the book of Acts? Who were the early church fathers and why were there popes? What were the crusades all about? Pastor Alex Burgess will lead the group through these topics and more in this survey of the first 1,500 years of church history from Pentecost to the Reformation. Meets at Ward Hill Church of Christ the King on Sunday afternoons from 2-5 p.m. on Nov. 3, 10, 17.
