Waterfront Movie Series begins Aug. 4

NEWBURYPORT — The Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce and Industry announce a new summer event.

The Waterfront Movie Series is set to begin Wednesday, Aug. 4, with the timeless classic, "The Wizard of Oz."

Grab a blanket and family and friends and join the Chamber of Commerce and lead sponsor Chase and Lunt Insurance for this movie series held at the Waterfront Park. The movies will be shown on a 40-foot inflatable movie screen with a high-definition Blu-ray projector and Bose professional sound system.

Movies will begin after sunset, at approximately 8 p.m. People are urged to come earlier to enjoy dinner in the park.

The movies will continue for the next two Wednesdays, featuring "Fantastic Mr. Fox" on Wednesday, Aug. 11, and finishing up on Wednesday, Aug. 18, with "Shrek."

The Waterfront Movie Series is free and open to the public. Other participating sponsors include Anna Jaques Hospital, Lombardi Oil Company Inc., Newburyport Mothers Club, Seaport Signworks, Walkey's Livery and Waterfront Park.
