NEWBURYPORT — The following programs will be offered at the Newburyport Public Library:
Travel in China, Sunday, 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Richard Ferland, professional photographer, will share his experiences living in and traveling in China. Get tips to plan your own visit, learn a bit about Chinese culture and language, and view some of Ferland's favorite photographs from his China travels.
WWII Tuskegee Airmen Program, Monday, 3 to 5 p.m.
James Sheppard was one of a small group of African-Americans selected to be part of the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II. Sheppard, a former staff sergeant, will share his the story of the Tuskegee Airmen and his experiences while on active service in Alabama, North Africa and Italy during World War II. This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and will take place in the Program Room. All are welcome.
Home Energy-Saving Workshop, March 5, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
This free workshop will offer tips for saving money on home energy bills and for reducing carbon footprint. Presenter Matthais Bohier and Next Step Living, a National Grid partner, will also discuss the free MassSave Program and ways for residents to save.
Newburyport and the Civil War, March 7, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Local author William Hallett will share stories of valor both on the battlefield and the home front taken from his new book, "Newburyport and the Civil War."
Wednesday matinees
On Wednesdays at 2:30, the Newburyport Public Library offers Movie Matinees. Come enjoy an afternoon of film.
These free programs will take place in the Library Program Room, and everyone is welcome.
