WEST NEWBURY — West Newbury residents will be meeting tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the Training Green and work until about noon, going around the town cleaning up litter and other winter debris. Anyone who would like to join in is welcome.

People will meet on the Green, and then disperse in teams of two or three. Biodegradable bags will be supplied; participants may want to bring gloves. The West Newbury Garden Club, the West Newbury Democratic Town Committee, and the Parks and Recreation Department will have members helping out.

The West Newbury effort is part of the Greater Newburyport Eco-Collaborative's area-wide Earth Day Celebration. A number of local towns are having parallel cleanups on the same day: an Earth Day exposition will take place at the Bartlet Mall/Frog Pond in Newburyport from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and all participants are invited to come to that celebration after the cleanup. Also this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, the annual Townwide Cleanup will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. both days. People who want to help should meet at the West Newbury Food Mart; bags and gloves will be supplied.
