Newburyport — Tacie Potter Mansfield, beloved daughter of Jean Mansfield McCaffery and the late Jefferson R. Mansfield Jr., died at her home in Newburyport, Mass., on November 16, 2013, after a long illness. Tacie was born on July 29, 1957, in Lowell, Mass., and grew up in Chelmsford, Mass., with her three brothers.
She attended Chelmsford schools and graduated from Northfield-Mt. Hermon Preparatory School, then on to Skidmore College for two years to study art, eventually earning bachelor's and master's degrees in communication from Simmons College in Boston. Tacie was a successful saleswoman for several printing companies, such as Northeast Offset in Chelmsford and Flagship Press in North Andover, and most recently the owner of an Edible Arrangements franchise in Newburyport. Tacie was highly creative and loved gardening, cooking, collecting art, and entertaining at her home.
Surviving her are her mother, Jean; her three brothers, Jon Mansfield and his wife, Holly, of Chelmsford, Peter Mansfield and his wife, Cynthia, of Holliston, Mass., and Steven Mansfield DMD and his wife, Debra, of Napa, Calif.; and seven nieces and nephews. Tacie was previously married to Robert McKittrick and John F McCarthy.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be held at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford, on Tuesday, November 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. A private burial service will be on Wednesday — family only.
