Amesbury, MA — Catherine J. “Taffy” (Wheeler) Blanchard, age 69, of Amesbury, formerly of Newburyport, passed away at her home after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday morning, September 15, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.
Daughter of the late George and Helen (Dow) Wheeler, she was born in Newburyport on December 15, 1942 and was a graduate of Newburyport High School. Taffy, as she was known by many, worked in the mortgage department of the Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank, retiring after 26 years.
She leaves behind those she loved so dearly, her two children, Michele J. Webber and husband Robert of Amesbury and Michael J. Blanchard and companion Elizabeth Rogers of Salisbury; two grandsons, Codi and Brandon Doucette of Amesbury; three sisters, Patricia Salvatore of Newburyport; Pamela Foster of Amesbury and Jacquelyn Smith of Georgetown; a brother, Alfred Wheeler of Berwick, Maine along with several generations of nieces, nephews and dear friends, including very special friend, Diane Sheldon.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Celebration of Life for family and friends will he held Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Sylvan Street Grille in the upstairs Function Hall, from 2 to 5 p.m. Kindly omit flowers, instead, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the Hospice of the donor’s choice.
