ROWLEY, MA — Ralph E. Estey Sr., 71, resident of Rowley for 45 years, and formerly of Danvers, passed away at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport on Monday, November 5, 2012.
He was the husband of Imelda (Gutang) Estey.
Ralph was born in Salem, July 29, 1941 son of the late Ellis L. and Catherine F. (Creeley) Estey.
Ralph attended Danvers Public Schools, and served as a Machinist Mate in the U.S. Navy. He then transferred his skills gained in the Navy to working as a highly skilled Machinist in the civilian world where he loyally worked for the same company his entire career at Temco Corporation in Danvers for 40 years fabricating aeronautical parts in the aerospace industry for the government and the private sector.
Ralph was an avid outdoorsman who adored the New Hampshire White Mountains and Lakes Region and all they offered.
Ralph absolutely loved agriculture and enjoying his land, his hobbies included raising exotic pheasants and waterfowl, beekeeping, gardening, and forestry preservation.
Ralph loved his family and enjoyed all their time together. He would escape with his family to the New Hampshire north country every opportunity he had and loved camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting.
In addition to his wife, Imelda, he is survived by his children, sons Ralph Jr. and wife Amanda Estey of Ipswich and Ellis Estey of Rowley; daughters, Kathy and husband Sam Herrick of Rowley, Christine and husband Dan Wildes of Rowley and Debbie and husband Greg Pipan of Amesbury. He leaves a sister, Florence Yunggabauer of Andover; grandchildren, Kristen, Kelly, Sammy and Billy Herrick, Daniel and Ashley Wildes and Brooke and Matthew Pipan, a great-granddaughter, Emma Rae Wildes and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary’s Church, Main Street, Rowley on Saturday morning November 10, 2012 at 10 AM. Burial will follow in the Main Street Cemetery, Rowley. A period of visitation will be held Friday, November 9, 2012, 4 to 7 PM in the F.S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley.
