Amesbury, MA — Rachel (Ducharme) Cloutier, 90, died peacefully after a period of declining health on Jan. 3, 2013, at Brentwood Nursing and Rehabilitation in Yarmouth, Maine. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Rachel was born Feb. 26, 1922, in Amesbury, and was the seventh child of Conrad and Alida (Fredette) Ducharme. She married Charles Cloutier on Dec. 15, 1945. As a homemaker, she raised three children in Amesbury with her husband. As a talented artist, Rachel was as creative with paint and an easel as she was with a sewing machine and fabric. In retirement, she spent many winters in Sarasota, Fla.
She leaves behind her son, Donald Cloutier, and his wife, Ann, of Exeter, N.H.; her daughter, Denise Bean, and her husband, Douglas, of Yarmouth, Maine; and her daughter, Cheryl Wood, and her husband, Michael, of Stowe, Mass. She also leaves her grandchildren, Nicole Childs and her husband, Chris; Corey Cloutier and his wife, Christina; Kathryn and Philip Bean, and Sophia and Jack Wood; her great-grandchildren, Anna Childs and Evan and Andrew Cloutier. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles who died in 2007.
ARRANGEMENTS: There will be a graveside service at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 110, Amesbury, on Saturday, May 4 at 11 a.m.
