Newburyport, MA — Mary “Ann” (Reardon) Zabriskie, 84, longtime Newburyport resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2014, at Mass General Hospital in Boston, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. She has now been eternally reunited with her beloved husband, Donald J. Zabriskie, who passed away on February 12, 2008.
Born in Springfield on April 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William and Julia (Mahoney) Reardon. She was a graduate of Newburyport High School, then went on to attend Tufts School of Radiology for three years.
A devoted wife and dedicated mother, her family filled her life with much happiness and pride. Ann loved dogs, especially her two German shepherds, Bruno and Elsa, and was a longtime supporter of St. Anthony’s Shrine in Boston.
She will be remembered forever by her two sons, Donald P. Zabriskie and wife, Cindy, and Howard “Chip” Zabriskie, all of Newbuyrport; her sister, Norma (Reynolds) Cavanaugh of China, Mich.; her two granddaughters, who were ever so dear to her, Lauren and Julia Zabriskie; along with several cousins and many dear friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, will be on Monday, January 6, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 7, at 10:30 a.m., at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Green St., Newburyport. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Newburyport.
