Georgetown — Rose (Marrone) Fazio of Georgetown, formerly of East Boston, died September 30. She was the wife of the late Joseph Fazio. Loving mother of Salvatore J. Fazio and his wife Rose of Tewksbury, Frank P. Fazio and his wife Georgianna of Georgetown, Angelo A. Fazio and his wife Geraldine of Rochester, N.H., Martha Fazio-Rodriguez and her husband Anibal of Salisbury, Joseph Fazio Jr. of Georgetown, Paul P. Fazio and his wife Maryellen of Methuen, Marianna C. Fazio of Danvers, and her predeceased son, Salvatore. Beloved grandmother of Joseph Fazio, Rose Marie Curley, Salvatore F. Fazio, Loriann Syvinski, Anthony Fazio, Justine Paula, Eric Fazio, and Benjamin Fazio-Carter. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; her dear sister, Marion Maggio of Everett, and was predeceased by her siblings Paul Marrone, Christine Ippolito, and Antonietta Ippolito.
Mrs. Fazio was born in Boston’s North End, and then spent her youth in Sicily, Italy before returning to Boston in her teens. She worked for several years as a seamstress in the city, where she met her future husband Joe. They married in 1937 and moved to Georgetown in 1942, where they operated a small farm. Rose enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and especially enjoyed visits from her relatives from Boston.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral from the Merton E. Roberts Jr. and Conte Funeral Home 14 Pleasant St., Georgetown on Thursday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Andover Street, Georgetown at 10 a.m. Visiting hours are Wednesday, 4 to 8 p.m.
