South Groveland — Mary A. (DiSorbo) Fitton, 90, of South Groveland died Tuesday morning at her residence.
She was born in Haverhill, February 8, 1922, daughter of the late Joseph and Angelina (DeMarco) DiSorbo.
Educated in the Haverhill school system, Mrs. Fitton graduated from Haverhill High School.
She was employed in the local shoe industry and retired in 1978 from the former Western Electric after 25 years.
She enjoyed gardening, dancing, socializing at the North End Boat Club and cleaning. She was the wife of the late James W. Fitton who died in 1988 and mother of the late James J. Fitton who died in 1992. Her survivors include two daughters, Diane and her husband Sam-Joseph, Cafiso Sr. of Plaistow, N.H.; Brenda G. Avery of South Groveland and Port Charlotte, Fla.; a brother, Frank DiSorbo of Holton, Maine; three grandchildren, Sam J. Cafiso, Jr. and his wife Laura and their son, Anthony of Plaistow, N.H.; Michael J. Cafiso and his wife April and their children, Benjamin and Grace, of Windham, N.H.; and Danielle M. Avery of South Groveland; two sisters-in-law, Madeline James, Mae DiSorbo, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fitton was the sister of the late Joseph, John and Rita DiSorbo, Bettina “Betty” Cook, Phyllis Cheney and Stella Alartosky.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral on Saturday morning, October 6, at 9 from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 in Sacred Hearts Church, So. Main St., Bradford. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland.
